What Happens During a Dental X-ray?
For many kids (and parents), the idea of an X-ray can seem intimidating, but the process is quick, painless, and safe. Here’s what a typical visit looks like:
- Getting Comfortable: Your child will be seated in a chair and fitted with a small lead apron to protect the rest of their body.
- Taking the Image: We’ll gently place a small digital sensor inside their mouth. Our dental team talks kids through it using age-appropriate language to calm nerves.
- That’s It! The image is captured in a couple of seconds, and you’ll be able to see it on the screen as we explain what it shows.

Captures high-quality images quickly and safely, making diagnostics fast and accurate.
5. Saliva Ejector (“Mr. Thirsty”)
This tiny vacuum keeps the mouth dry and comfortable during the cleaning. Kids love the nickname—and often giggle when they meet “Mr. Thirsty” for the first time!
6. Tooth Polisher
At the end of the appointment, we use a polishing tool with flavored paste to leave teeth sparkling clean. Kids can even choose their favorite flavor—bubblegum, strawberry, and more.
